1. What the One-Year Warranty Covers
The one-year warranty covers defects in parts and workmanship related to the refurbished device. This includes issues directly tied to the refurbishment process or normal hardware operation.
Covered Defects
The warranty covers issues that arise from defective components or workmanship when the device is used normally.
Repair or Replacement
If a covered issue occurs, Tech ResQ will repair or replace the defective component at no cost to the customer.
Coverage applies to the refurbished device as sold and to normal hardware operation during the one-year warranty period.
The warranty is intended to provide affordable support while protecting the original refurbished device purchase.
Warranty Examples
Examples of covered issues include charging, battery, display, board, speaker, or microphone failures.
The issue must be tied to an internal defect or normal hardware operation.
Physical or liquid damage is handled under the out-of-warranty determination process.
Covered Repair Outcome
When the issue is covered, Tech ResQ will complete the repair or replace the defective component at no cost.
A technician will evaluate the device before work begins and explain the next step.
Customers are encouraged to back up their data before bringing in a device.
Examples of Covered Issues
The following examples are covered when caused by internal failure or normal hardware operation:
A charging port that stops working due to internal failure
A battery that begins swelling or fails to hold charge
A screen that develops touch issues or display failure without physical damage
A motherboard component that fails under normal use
A speaker or microphone that stops functioning due to internal defect
2. What the Warranty Does Not Cover
The warranty does not cover accidental damage, misuse, or issues caused by external factors.
Examples of Non-Covered Issues
The following conditions are outside warranty coverage:
Cracked screens
Bent frames
Liquid damage
Damage caused by drops, impact, or pressure
Damage caused by third-party chargers, cables, or accessories
Software issues, app problems, or data corruption
Damage caused by another repair shop or unauthorized modification
Physical Damage
Cracked screens, bent frames, and damage caused by drops, impact, or pressure are not covered.
Liquid and Accessory Damage
Liquid damage and damage caused by third-party chargers, cables, or accessories are not covered.
Software and Unauthorized Repairs
Software issues, app problems, data corruption, and damage caused by another repair shop or unauthorized modification are not covered.
3. Out-of-Warranty Determination
A technician will inspect the device to determine whether the issue is covered under warranty. If the failure is caused by accidental damage, misuse, or external factors, the device will be classified as out of warranty.
Inspection
The technician will evaluate the device, identify the cause of failure, and determine whether the issue is related to the refurbishment process or normal hardware operation.
Examples of Out-of-Warranty Findings
Examples include the findings listed below. Once classified as out of warranty, the discounted repair program applies.
A swollen battery caused by liquid exposure
A charging port damaged by a bent cable
A screen with pressure spots or cracks
A motherboard failure caused by corrosion
A device opened or modified by another shop
Classification
If the device shows signs of physical or liquid damage, it will be classified as out of warranty.
Next Steps
Customers will receive an explanation of the determination before discounted repair pricing is applied.
Determination Standard
The decision is based on observed damage, use history, and whether the issue is tied to the refurbishment process.
4. Discounted Repair Program for Refurbished Devices
As part of the refurbished device warranty, Tech ResQ offers discounted repair pricing for any refurbished device that is determined to be out of warranty.
This discount applies only to the original refurbished device purchased from Tech ResQ and is available for the full one-year warranty period. Discounts vary depending on the repair and parts required. A technician will evaluate the device before any discount is applied.
Examples of Discounted Repairs
A cracked screen replacement offered at a reduced price
A charging port repair discounted due to accidental damage
A battery replacement discounted if the failure was caused by misuse
A board-level repair discounted if the failure is not covered under warranty
Customers will receive a clear quote before any discounted repair is performed.
6. How to Use the Warranty
If a customer experiences an issue with a refurbished device, they should bring the device to Tech ResQ for evaluation. A technician will inspect the device and determine whether the issue is covered.
If covered, the repair will be completed at no cost. If out of warranty, the customer will be offered discounted repair pricing.
Customers are encouraged to back up their data before bringing in the device. Tech ResQ is not responsible for data loss caused by existing damage or failing components.
